Updates from October 23

10/23/17 1) called it!! Coach of the Suns Earl Watson fired after 3 games. Probably a good choice for the Suns. 2) Last night Minnesota vs OKC was a fantastic exhibition of two new look teams. -Minnesotas offense looked awesome in the first part of the first quarter. Taj Gibson and Jeff Teague working the pick and roll, Andrew Wiggins being up top to kick it back out, but KAT was anxious on his shots. -OKC picked it back up with Steven Adams and Carmelo Anthony. This was a great game to show the danger of Melo. He has a very natural mismatch with a lot of players and can spot up on so many defenders. -Russ had to learn this game that he cannot rely on George and Melo sometimes and he has to still play his game. He looked soft at the beginning but the fourth quarter, he took over and would have won the game for them if not for a miracle shot from Andrew Wiggins -KAT had to learn that he has to play basketball. He wants to be the focal point of the offense, but that comes to him wi...

The Top 10 Most Exciting Things to Look For in the 2017-18 Season

Today is the opening day of the 2017-18 season! Just about two hours and the first game will be underway, and I am so excited. Here are the top 10 things that I am excited for this season. 1. Minnesota's Return to the Playoffs The T-Wolves have not played a postseason game since their 6 game conference finals against the Lakers in 2004. From Kevin Love to Ricky Rubio, to Andrew Wiggins, to KAT, the Timberwolves have always seemed to have so much potential but fell short. This year, after their brilliant, franchise-altering off-season, it looks like they will return. Adding key pieces Jeff Teague, Taj Gibson, and, most notably, two-way star Jimmy Butler, Minnesota seems like a sure bet to make it to the playoffs, despite their competitive conference. 2. The All-Star Game If you were unaware, the NBA is completely changing the All-Star game format this season! I don't know if it was because of the completely uncompetitive prediction of East vs. West, but if not, this was ...

NBA Finals 2017: Why the Warriors will Win the Championship

Today marked the second game in the 2017 NBA finals series of the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Golden State Warriors. Today marked the third loss of the Cavaliers in the playoffs, and continued the unbeaten streak of the Warriors. Today marked the last chance for Cleveland to stay in the game. Game 1 of this series exhibited the Warriors with an outstanding four turnovers in the whole game. When a team multiplies their turnovers by 5 and still wins by 19 points, you know something is wrong. However, the first half only showed a differential of 3 points. This must mean something went at least more right for the Cavaliers in the first half. From the get-go, LeBron showed his ability to drive to the basket. Every shot attempt from LeBron, in the first quarter, was taken from inside. Kevin Love started the game strong, as well, leading in scoring in the first quarter and showing dominance inside the paint. The Warriors obviously put up strong numbers in the first half also, but more import...

NBA Injuries

Who is Protecting the Game of Basketball?  Imagine waiting a whole lifetime to see childhood hero. The years go by, but when the time finally comes to see him in person, he bails! NBA fans are devastated about this across the nation! In the past four years, a strategy has been formed to reach the ultimate goal of winning an NBA championship, but it has come at the expense of fans all around the world missing their moment to see the star they have always dreamt of seeing in real life. Star players are being told to take a rest from games during the season to avoid injury and to preserve energy for the playoffs.  Former NBA player and head-coach, Mark Jackson, now an NBA analyst and ABC commentator for the NBA, unveils the true issue in the league. After the Cleveland Cavaliers rested their three marquee players the day before a back-to-back game, Jackson stated his opinion regarding the matter.  I understand the medical information that we are acquiring. I even...
